On September 6, 2000 the first Menopause Clinician and Menopause Educator Subspecialty Examinations were administered to approximately 90 health professionals in Orlando, Florida.

The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) and The National Certification Corporation (NCC) for the Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing Specialties collaborated on the development of the examination content. The test was administered by the NCC and offered an opportunity to the many multidisciplinary health professionals that provide essential health care to women in this crucial time of their lives to obtain a certificate of added qualification in menopause.

A representative of The North American Menopause Society stated that a list of those physicians who successfully passed the examination and have attained this certificate of added qualification as a menopausal clinician is to be posted on their web site. I am pleased to report that I was one of the physicians who took the examination and I recently received notification that I had successfully passed it.
